Credit Union Impersonation Scams
As your trusted financial partner, we’re alerting you to a concerning - and increasing - trend that has been affecting our members:
Credit Union impersonation Scams.
Unfortunately, scammers are targeting members. They pretend to be from Achieve Credit Union and attempt to gather personal information under the guise of verifying recent transactions.
These impersonation scam tactics have evolved to become highly sophisticated and difficult to detect immediately.
Here are three crucial steps to help you protect yourself from falling victim to these scams:
Be Skeptical of Unsolicited Calls
Scammers often use sophisticated tactics, including spoofing our credit union's phone number on your caller ID. If you receive an unsolicited call or text claiming to be from Achieve Credit Union asking to verify transactions or requesting personal information, be cautious.
Verify Caller Identity Independently
If you have any doubts about a call, hang up immediately. Do not call back any phone number provided during the suspicious call. Instead, dial the main number for Achieve Credit Union and confirm that the call was legitimate.
Monitor Your Accounts Regularly
Stay vigilant by regularly reviewing your account statements and transactions. If you notice any unauthorized or suspicious activity, contact us immediately. Early detection allows us to take swift action to protect your accounts and investigate any potential security breaches.
Remember...
Achieve Credit Union will NEVER solicit you by phone or text for your sensitive information, such as account numbers, PINs, or passwords.
We are committed to working with you to keep your financial information secure.
If you have fallen victim to such a scam or have any concerns, please contact us promptly.
We are here to assist you and ensure the security of your accounts.
